Amid the worsening diplomatic India-Canada Row, PM Justin Trudeau has yet again poked India. This time, the Canadian PM said, “Indian govt is making it unbelievably difficult for the life of millions in India and Canada”. PM Trudeau’s jibe came soon after Canada’s withdrawal of 41 diplomats from India citing “India’s threat” . Trudeau said that expulsion of some of Canada’s diplomats will hamper travel and trade and pose difficulties for Indians studying in Canada. Around two million Canadians, 5 pc of the overall population, have Indian heritage. Moreover, India is by far Canada’s largest source of global students, making up roughly 40 pc of study permit holders. India-Canada relations have reached all-time low after Canadian PM Trudeau’s “absurd” allegation about India. Justin Trudeau raised his voice in support of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was a designated Khalistani terrorist. However, India has strongly rejected Canada’s allegation as “absurd and motivated.”
