Israeli PM Netanyahu rejects US appeal for a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon

Top ministers from Israeli PM Netanyahu`s cabinet have rejected ceasefire proposal in the in Lebanon. Amid one of deadliest attacks in Lebanon, USA, France and allies called for a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon Beirut. Biden, Macron, allies called for an immediate 21-day ceasefire along the Israel-Lebanon border on Sept 26. The ceasefire along ‘Blue Line’ would allow both sides to seek diplomatic solution, as per Senior US Official. The statement was concurred by allies including Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and the EU at the UNGA. However, taking to ‘X’, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said, campaign in north should end in one scenario - crushing Hezbollah. In separate statement on ‘X’, Foreign Minister Israel Katz also opposed the temporary ceasefire proposal.
