100 and not out, inflation will finally put a stop to this ever growing family

‘No more kids,’ says father of 102 children

Ugandan farmer, Hasahya who has 12 wives, claims he is a granddad to 568 children

After allegedly fathering more than 100 kids, a 67-year-old farmer following a polygamous lifestyle in Lusaka, Uganda, has declared that he is “done having children because of the rising cost of living”. Musa Hasahya—who also has 568 grand-kids—has asked all 12 of his wives to go on birth control pills to avoid another pregnancy citing the inability to feed his massive family. His eldest child is 51 years old.

Hasahya says his salary doesn’t stretch as far anymore. “My income has become lower and lower over the years due to the rising cost of living, and my family has become bigger and bigger,” he rued. All of Hasahya’s wives reportedly live in the same house as him. This, he says, makes it easier for him to “monitor them and also stop them [from] eloping with other men in this village”. “I married one woman after another. How can a man be satisfied with one woman?” he wondered.

Polygamy is legal in Uganda. Hasahya’s youngest wife, Zulaika, who is 21 years younger than his oldest child and a mother of 11 of his children, claimed, “I’m not having any more kids. I’ve seen the bad financial situation and am now taking birth control pills.” A third of the farmer’s children—who are between six and 51 years old reside with him on the farm.

According to her creditor, Pramita had surpassed one loan extension as she couldn’t pay back the debt. When the second deadline was about to expire, the woman’s son announced her “death” on Facebook, along with photos of her with nostrils stuffed with bits of cotton, as that of a dead body.

The lender Maya Gunawan and Pramita, had never met in person, but when the latter reached out to her for a loan, Gunawan asked around other investment group members and when none of them had anything negative to say about Pramita, she granted it. The loan was given out on the condition that Pramita will pay it back by November 20.

Pramita’s son was confronted about the photographs and he confessed to the drama created by his mom. Unfortunately, even after this revelation, Pramita was still nowhere to be found, and Gunawan is yet to receive her money back.
