Two 12-year-old boys and one 11-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting two other boys of primary school age in Hangrove Park, police said yesterday.

In the alleged assault, one of the victims was forced to strip and smeared with dog faeces while his friends were ordered to perform indecent acts on him.

But the police were quick to play down any comparisons with this month's widely publicised case in Doncaster in which two young brothers admitted a series of horrific attacks on two other boys.
Said a spokesman for Avon and Somerset police, "In this case the victims have suffered no physical injuries. Nevertheless, they and their families are understandably shaken and distressed."
While the ages of the three victims were not released,it has been widely reported that they were 10-year-olds.
Residents said undesirable social elements mostly frequent the park.
