The announcement that AR Rahman would compose music for a Yash Chopra film starring Shah Rukh Khan promptly made them all trending topics.

Another timeline-clogger was Sonam Kapoor, following her appearance at Cannes.

Some discussed her dress in detail, others complimented her PR agency and a certain Rahul Nuthakki pointed out quite accurately, I thought that her trending proved how everyone in India officially had nothing to do.

Heavenly fairytale

Stephen Hawking is a celebrated theoretical physicist and Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. That didn't stop a whole lot of people from turning on him though, after he referred to heaven as 'a fairy story' for those who fear death. I found this comment particularly amusing, even it will make sense only to children of the eighties: 'Belinda Carlisle has countered Hawking, arguing that Heaven is actually a place on Earth.'

The dating game

'That's Why You're Single' became a much-discussed topic for a while, with interesting responses like 'walking around the shopping mall wearing bedroom slippers, that's why.' Also: 'When a girl cancels a date, she does it because she has to; when a boy cancels a date, he does it because he has two.'

Not pitch perfect

Accusing India of dominating the International Cricket Council got former England skipper Tony Greig a lot of attention. A certain Siva Chandan tweeted: "I would have been happy had Greig said 'end Sharad Pawar's ICC stint' instead of 'end India's domination.'"

The last word
So, someone put this question to musician Vishal Dadlani: 'Wat d hell is Pentagram (sic)?' He replied, in his sweet, patient manner: 'Look, (re)tardo! There's this magic website called Google. Go ask it.' Always the helpful one, our Vishal.
