A video of an Australian man punching a kangaroo after it attacked his dog has gone viral.
The showdown was posted on Facebook on Sunday and has already garnered over 3 million views. Steven Stubenrauch shared the video on Facebook with the caption: "My buddy from Australia sent me this. Them 'roos (kangaroos) are wild as hell."
In the video, the man jumps from a truck to save his dog from the kangaroo. The animal is holding his pet in a headlock. The man then throws a punch at its face, before rescuing his pooch.
The marsupial and man stood toe-to-toe before the latter threw a right-hand punch which hit the animal in the head.
The moment the man stood toe-to-toe and traded punches with the marsupial to save his dog 'Max' was captured on camera by a friend, who shot the fight from the safety of his vehicle, Daily Mail reported.
Daily Mail Australia has identified the man as zookeeper Greig Tonkins.
With the dog in a headlock, the man's approach initially fails to deter the kangaroo. Eventually the roo releases the dog, turning its attention instead to the man.
THe marsupial stares at the man before being struck by a forceful punch that sends it stumbling backwards.
The man's unexpected punch seems to have left the aggressive animal in shock who eventually bounds off into the bush.
