Amid rising Covid-19 cases across the country, a video of a massive crowd gathering on New Year's Eve at Goa's Baga beach has gone viral on social media. 


The video was shared by user Herman Gomes and he captioned it, "This was Baga Beach in Goa, last night. Please take the Covid scenario seriously. This is a Royal  welcome to the Covid wave Mostly tourists (sic)."

In the clip, hundreds of people can be seen walking on a road near Baga Beach in North Goa. This didn't go down too well with Twitterati and they made their displeasure known quite evidently.

 

Meanwhile, schools and colleges in Goa will remain closed till January 26 amid rising cases of coronavirus. Dr Shekhar Salkar, who is a member of the task force also said that night curfew from 11 pm to 6 am will be imposed soon. On January 2, 388 people had tested positive for Covid-19, taking the state tally to 1,81,570.
