Father Slawomir Kostrzewa told parents that Danish company’s Monster Fighters and Zombie mini-figures can ‘have a negative effect on children’
New York: Lego is leading children to the dark side. That’s the bizarre claim of a Polish priest — who says the innocent-looking plastic blocks hold a sinister secret.

They are, he is convinced, a tool of Satan that can destroy youngsters' souls.
Father Slawomir Kostrzewa reportedly told parents in a presentation that the Danish firm behind the ever-popular toy had taken “a lurch to the dark side” in recent years.
Its new Monster Fighters and Zombie mini-figures series “were about darkness and the world of death,” he claimed.
“Friendly fellows have been replaced by dark monsters,” the Telegraph reports him as saying.
“These toys can have a negative effect on children. They can destroy their souls and lead them to the dark side,” he added.
Kostrzewa, who's previously launched similar attacks on Hello Kitty and My Little Pony, also referred to New Zealand's University of Canterbury research that suggested the facial expressions of Lego figures have become angrier.
This, he claimed, compounded their evil potential.
“Facial expressions may lead to confusion between good and evil. It appears the good suffer in battle and the ‘villains’ have a face showing satisfaction with their evil deeds,” he added.
But fans of the blocks have dismissed their capacity for inciting the devil.
“These are just blocks. Linking them to Satan is just wrong, and all that will happen is that children will be afraid of them now,” psychologist Monika Filipowska told Super Express.
