Amidst the controversy around the WAQF Amendment Bill, Social workers and Islamic scholars Mohammad Tahir Ismail and Mufti Wajahat Qasmi, in an interview with ANI, addressed concerns about the Government`s Waqf Amendment Bill. They criticized political parties for politicizing the issue by claiming that the government intends to seize people`s properties. Both scholars dismissed these claims, stating that the government`s focus is on the development of all sections of society. They also pointed out that the Sachar Committee had previously recommended that the government make certain changes and amendments regarding Waqf.
