Heavy rainfall hit Andhra Pradesh hard, causing severe flooding and landslides in various areas on 1st September. In Vijayawada, the rain was so intense that it submerged houses and cars. The National and state disaster relief teams quickly stepped in to help, relocating affected residents to safer places. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the flood-hit areas to oversee the response efforts. Around 80 people have been rescued so far, and many residents from low-lying regions have been moved to safer locations. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the next five days, predicting thunderstorms and lightning in isolated areas, especially in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. The situation remains critical as the state continues to manage the impacts of the severe weather.
