The railway board on June 4th held a press conference briefing the media on the Odisha train tragedy. Back in the day, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, in a statement, had said that the cause of the Odisha train tragedy was "a change in electronic interlocking". While the exact details of the accident are yet to be ascertained with the report from the investigation board, the railway board officials explained the ‘interlocking’ system and dismissed the failure of the ‘Kavach’ system as the reason behind the accident.
