In a major diplomatic development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has firmly rejected former US President Donald Trump’s claims of mediating the ceasefire between India and Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. In a direct phone call with Trump, PM Modi clarified that India has never accepted mediation, does not accept it, and will never accept it. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that no talks were ever held between India and the US regarding mediation or trade deals during that period. Misri further clarified that the ceasefire talks were conducted directly between India and Pakistan, through existing military channels, and only at Pakistan’s request.
