On November 11, 2024, Hezbollah launched nearly 200 rockets into Israel, hitting Haifa and surrounding areas. The attack triggered air raid sirens and caused significant fires and damage in the Kiryat Ata suburb, east of Haifa. Videos from Israel`s ambulance service showed buildings and vehicles on fire. This increase in rocket and drone attacks by Hezbollah is in retaliation for the killing of their top leaders by Israeli forces. Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed militant group, began firing rockets into Israeli border communities after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Despite the attacks, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have successfully targeted and killed many of Hezbollah’s senior commanders. Now, Naim Qassem, the group`s current leader, is considered a likely target for the IDF as the group’s leadership continues to crumble.
