India achieves milestone with first successful Long-Range Hypersonic missile test

On November 16, DRDO successfully tested India`s first long-range hypersonic missile from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. The missile, designed to carry different payloads over distances greater than 1,500 km, can be used by all branches of the Indian Armed Forces. During the test, various tracking systems were used to monitor the missile’s flight path. The missile was developed by DRDO’s Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex. Senior scientists from DRDO and the Armed Forces were present for the test. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised DRDO and the Armed Forces for the success, highlighting that this achievement places India among a select few countries with such advanced missile technology. DRDO Chairman also thanked the team for their efforts in making the mission a success.
