Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has returned to the Indian cricket team as its new head coach, announced by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah on July 9. Shah expressed confidence in Gambhir, known for his crucial roles in India`s victories in the ICC T20 WC 2007 and WC 2011 finals. Gambhir, previously a left-handed opener for India, also mentored KKR to their 3rd IPL title in 2024. Following Rahul Dravid`s tenure, Gambhir aims to lead India with new goals.
