Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 is round the corner and people are busy preparing for this 10 day festival. Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav, is a significant Hindu celebration that pays homage to Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. All over India, every year this festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Devotees bring clay idols of Lord Ganesha to home and pandals and worship Ganesha till Visarjan. During Ganesh Chaturthi, people recite Vedic mantras and Hindu scriptures, pray, and fast. Devotees offer Lord Ganesha as his favorite laddu and modak as prasad during daily prayers at community pandals. The celebration lasts ten days and ends on Anant Chaturdashi, when Ganesh ji is immersed in water. Families at home also make preparations for grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations by making arrangements in advance, such as purchasing puja supplies and bringing clay idols. On Ganesh Chaturthi or the day before, families bring the Ganesh idol home. They decorate a clean area with flowers, then install the idol with flowers, decorations, and sacred mantras.
