Trump also blamed Trudeau’s weak border policies for the deaths of many people. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the call was friendly but emphasized Trump’s strong stance on protecting American interests. Despite this attempt at diplomacy, the ongoing tensions and Trump`s "America First" policy suggest a resolution between Canada and the U.S. is still far off.
