On Saturday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her eighth consecutive Budget in the Lok Sabha. She announced an important change, exempting annual income up to Rs 12 lakh from income tax, while adjusting tax slabs to benefit the middle class. The Budget also focused on future reforms, including increasing the foreign direct investment (FDI) limit in the insurance sector, making tax laws simpler, and reducing duties on intermediaries.
