The Raigad Development Authority has undertaken the work of conservation of parts of the Raigad fort and is also working to hold a light and sound show, a day before Shivaji Maharaj was coronated as the emperor (on June 6, 1674), Sambhaji Chhatrapati, a member of the former royal family of Kolhapur and king Shivaji's descendant said on Saturday.

On the occasion of Shiv Jayanti, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde pays floral tribute on the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Mumbai Airport. Shiv Jayanti was celebrated at the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) headquarters in Mumbai.
