The Prime Minister began his visit with a river cruise on the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. Modi’s visit marks the start of a series of development initiatives aimed at enhancing Prayagraj's infrastructure for the 2025 Maha Kumbh.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth Rs 5,500 crore, including road, rail, and infrastructure upgrades. Key infrastructure projects include 10 new Road Over Bridges (RoBs), flyovers, permanent Ghats, and riverfront roads to improve connectivity.
As part of the 'Swachh Ganga' initiative, Modi will launch projects aimed at preventing untreated water from flowing into the Ganga through drainage interception and treatment. Additional projects focus on improving drinking water facilities and power supply in the city.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate major temple corridors such as Bharadwaj Ashram, Shringverpur Dham, and Akshayvat to ease access for devotees. The launch of the Kumbh Sah'AI'yak chatbot will provide devotees with guidance and event updates during the Maha Kumbh 2025.
The 2025 Maha Kumbh, scheduled from January 13 to February 26, will see millions of pilgrims participating in the sacred bathing ritual at the Triveni Sangam. The Uttar Pradesh Police will incorporate AI and advanced technology into their security systems to ensure the safety of the vast number of devotees attending the event.
