During the Miss India 2019 competition, Suman Rao had also won the Miss Rampwalk award. Miss India 2019 was the 56th edition of Miss India beauty pageant.
In a statement, Suman Rao had said she was honoured and happy to have won the Miss India title. "It still hasn't sunk in. I feel that I've become a ray of hope to the society where I come from and now other young women like me will never be afraid to follow their dreams. My family and friends are thrilled and I can't wait to celebrate with them," she had said.
Suman Rao was born to to Ratan Singh Rao and Susheela Kanwar in Udaipur and brought up in Mumbai. Her father is a businessman and mother, a homemaker. Suman has two brothers Chirag Singh Rao and Jitendra Rao.
