Actor-turned-politician Nusrat Jahan has primarily worked in Bengali movies. Nusrat started off as a model after winning the beauty contest Fair-one Miss Kolkata in 2010. Her onscreen debut was in Raj Chakraborty's Shotru in 2011. In 2019, Nusrat Jahan won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a Trinamool Congress MP from Basirhat constituency.
She was born in a Bengali practicing Muslim family in Kolkata. She completed her schooling from Our Lady Queen of the Missions School, Kolkata, and attended Bhawanipur College. In 2019, Nusrat Jahan married her long-time boyfriend, Nikhil Jain, who is a businessman.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Nusrat Jahan who fought the elections as a TMC candidate defeated BJP's Sayantan Basu by 3,50,369 votes in Basirhat. For Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan, her new stint in politics is just like household work, and she believes she can easily balance her new role with her film career. She said, "For me, managing home and shooting for films both are my full-time jobs. Now I don't think to work for people will be like extra work. Handling two things is always difficult but everything can be balanced."
When Nusrat Jahan posted her photo with a close friend and another MP from Kolkata Mimi Chakraborty displaying the identity cards as MPs on the premises of Parliament, they were trolled online for posting pictures in western outfits in front of the Parliament. During the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Nusrat Jahan declared her assets to be worth over Rs 2.90 crore. Her movable assets were worth over Rs 90.88 lakh, which included Rs 5 lakh cash in hand, bank deposits of more than Rs 29.88 lakh, Alchemist bonds worth Rs one lakh, insurance investment worth Rs 2.5 lakh and professional fees receivable of Rs 5 lakh
As part of her movable assets, Nusrat Jahan possesses 450 gm of gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs 12 lakh, besides two luxury cars, one of which she bought in 2016. The 28-year-old actress had shown over Rs 25.67 lakh of total income in her income tax return for the financial year 2017-18
Nusrat Jahan also declared a self-acquired residential flat valued at Rs 2 crore in Kolkata, which she had bought during the financial year 2016-17. As per her affidavit, she has total liabilities of over Rs 1.68 crore in the way of home and car loans
Nusrat Jahan has declared that there is no criminal case pending against her and she has never been convicted for any criminal offence till date

Nusrat Jahan looked every bit the traditional bride in a red designer lehenga as she tied the knot with her businessman beau Nikhil Jain in the picturesque Turkish town of Bodrum. The wedding took place at the Six Place Kapalankya, a luxury resort located in Milas, 84 km from Bodrum
