Maharashtra’s Omicron tally rose to 141 with 31 new cases being reported on Sunday

As coronavirus cases, including Omicron numbers, continue to rise in the country, many states have imposed a night curfew to keep a check on the virus. Maharashtra’s Omicron tally also rose to 141 with 31 new cases being reported on Sunday. The national capital’s Omicron tally also stands at 142, out of which 23 have been discharged.

Here's a list of states that imposed Covid-19 curbs amid Omicron threat:
MAHARASHTRA
Maharashtra, which is one of the worst-hit, imposed a curfew in the state prohibiting a gathering of over five people between 9 pm and 6 am. Gyms, spas, hotels, theaters and cinema halls are allowed to function with 50 per cent capacity. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in a circular has banned New Year celebrations in Mumbai — both in closed and open spaces.
GUJARAT
The Gujarat government extended the duration of night curfew in eight cities by two hours from December 25. The curfew would be in force from 11 pm to 5 am instead of 1 am to 5 am. The new time will be implemented in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar and Gandhinagar cities.
DELHI
Delhi on Sunday imposed a curfew from 11 pm till 5 am which will come into effect on Monday. People travelling on foot to buy vegetables, milk and other household products in the neighbourhood, pharmacy stores, people going to and returning from airports and shops selling essential items, however, are exempted from the curfew.
KARNATAKA
Karnataka announced a night curfew in the state from 10 pm to 5 am for 10 days with effect from December 28. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting of senior ministers and officials, chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
ASSAM
The Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government in Assam announced a night curfew from 11.30 pm to 6 am across the state.
UTTAR PRADESH
Uttar Pradesh had imposed a night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am from December 25. The number of people allowed at weddings has been capped at 200.
HARYANA
Haryana on Friday had imposed a night curfew and restricted the movement of people from 11 pm to 5 am. The state government had also prohibited gatherings of more than 200 people in public places and events. The order came to effect from December 25 and will be till January 5, 2022.
MADHYA PRADESH
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered imposing a night curfew in the state from 11 pm to 5 am.
