Industry and commerce minister of Telangana KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday invited Tesla Inc's chief executive Elon Musk to set shop in his state.

This comes a day after Musk his electric vehicle (EV) company was facing a "lot of challenges" in launching its cars in India.

"Hey Elon, I am the Industry & Commerce Minister of Telangana state in India. Will be happy to partner Tesla in working through the challenges to set shop in India/Telangana," Rao said response to Musk’s Tweet.

"Our state is a champion in sustainability initiatives & a top notch business destination in India," he added in his tweet.

On Wednesday evening, a Twitter user posted a tweet asking Musk whether there was any further update of Tesla manufacturing launch in India and saying the vehicles "deserve to be in every corner of the world."

"Still working through a lot of challenges with the government, " Musk answered on Twitter.

In 2020, Musk announced plans to open the production of Tesla electric vehicles in India. A subsidiary of Tesla, India Motors And Energy Private Limited, was established in Bengaluru in southwest India. Musk said he was ready to build a Tesla factory in India if the country reduces the cost of importing electric vehicles.
