A 21-Year old sailor attached to INS Shivaji in Lonavala was found hanging in his room on Friday morning. Police suspect a case of suicide
At present Lonavala city, which falls under the jurisdiction of Pune Rural police has registered a case of accidental death (AD) case. The deceased Sitaram Paraswal (21) hails from Sikar in Rajasthan. He was posted as a sailor attached to LOG I (F&A) of INS Shivaji, Lonavla.
Senior Inspector Chandrakant Jadhav of Lonavala city police station said, "the incident took place on Friday morning in his room. The sailor was found hanging, in what appears to be a case of suicide. We are probing the case. ''
In the meantime a press release issued by Defence mentioned, "The local police was intimated and an FIR has been registered. The family of the sailor has been informed. The Navy has ordered an inquiry into the incident."
