Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday said that his visit to Jammu and Kashmir “will remain a beautiful experience etched in his memory” drawing praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Tendulkar posted a short highlight of his visit to the region and said it will remain a beautiful experience etched in his memory. “There was snow all around but we felt warm because of people's exceptional hospitality. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said there is so much to see in our nation. Couldn't agree more, especially after this trip,” he said.

He added, “The Kashmir Willow bats are great examples of 'Make in India, Make for the World.' They have travelled across the globe, and now I recommend people across the globe, and India, to come and experience Jammu & Kashmir, one of the several jewels of @incredibleindia.”

Modi responded, "This is wonderful to see! Sachin Tendulkar's lovely Jammu and Kashmir visit has two important takeaways for our youth: One - to discover different parts of Incredible India. Two- the importance of 'Make in India.' Together, let's build a Viksit and Aatmanirbhar Bharat!".

Last week, Tendulkar said he was pleased with the quality of Kashmir willow bats. Tendulkar and his family visited a cricket bat manufacturing unit in southern Kashmir’s Sangam on Saturday pleasantly surprising the people there, newswire PTI reported.

Tendulkar, accompanied by wife Anjali and daughter Sara, stopped by at a unit in Charsoo on the Srinagar-Jammu highway and interacted with the workers. "We were busy making bats when a vehicle stopped at our gate. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Little Master and his family," Mohammad Shaheen Parray, owner of MJ Sports, told PTI over phone.

Parray said Tendulkar checked the quality of the bats made of Kashmir willow. "He stroked a few bats and was quite pleased with the quality. Tendulkar said he had come to compare the Kashmir willow bats with those made of English willow. "We requested him to lend his voice in support of the local bats," Parray said, adding the batting maestro promised to support the Kashmir willow bats.

Parray said Tendulkar spent an hour at the manufacturing unit and interacted with a small bunch of fans. (With inputs from PTI)
