Pune: An 18-year-old HSC student hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his home after checking his results online yesterday.
The deceased is Sanjay Dattatray Vibhuti (18), a resident of Bhoradenagar in Thergaon.

Inspector NJ Shaikh of Wakad police station said, “The family claims he died because he failed in his exam. They have still not checked his results. No suicide note has been recovered. Sanjay was a Commerce student. This was his second attempt to clear HSC. He had failed four subjects last year.”

Around 1 pm on Wednesday, Sanjay went to his room to check his results. He asked his mother not to come in until had checked his results. His mother was busy cooking. His elder brother was repeatedly calling him to check his results, but he did not answer his call so he called their mother. She went to his bedroom and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
