Political leaders paid tribute to Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary

On the occasion of former prime minister Indira Gandhi's death anniversary, politician leaders paid tribute to her on the micro-blogging site.


The Congress's Twitter handle tweeted, "On her death anniversary, we remember India’s only female PM, Indira Gandhi. From liberation of Bangladesh to ushering in of Green Revolution, she led the nation through its highs & lows. We salute her unyielding resilience & unwavering vision for the nation's development."




Salman Khurshid, politician and a senior advocate in Supreme Court, tweeted, "Remembering the iron leaders of India, Lt Smt Indira Gandhi ji on her death anniversary and Bharat Ratna, Lt Sardar Patel on his birth anniversary."

NCP senior leader, Ajit Pawar, said, "Paying tribute to our first Woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ji, who has inspired many with her strong & remarkable political career." 

Congress leaders too paid tribute to her on social media platforms. Rahul Gandhi, grandson of Indira Gandhi said he is carrying her love and values in his heart and will not allow the India for which she sacrificed her life to fall apart.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and other party leaders offered floral tributes to her at the Shakti Sthal memorial.
