The coastal state is celebrating the statehood day by unveiling various new projects. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar inaugurated the industrial and women block of newly constructed Colvale Jail. He also opened a solid waste treatment plant at Saligao village, 10 kms away from here.
Goa attained statehood on May 30, 1987 changing its earlier status as a Union Territory along with Daman and Diu.
