In a virtual event held on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 new employees across various government departments, marking a significant step towards bolstering the workforce. During the event, he also highlighted the recent passage of the women's reservation bill in the new Parliament building, emphasizing his government's commitment to empowering girls and women, stated a PTI report.

Addressing the gathering at the Rozgar Mela, Prime Minister Modi stressed the transformative power of technology in governance, emphasizing how it has streamlined government schemes, reduced corruption, and enhanced credibility and convenience for citizens.
"I congratulate all the newly inducted recruits who have received appointment letters today under Rozgar Mela. Use of technology in government schemes curbed corruption, complexities and boosted credibility, comfort," he said.
According to the report in PTI, he encouraged the new employees to adopt a "citizens-first" approach in their work and leverage technology to enhance governance further. He cited the successful use of technology in various fields, including direct benefit transfers, train ticket booking, and digital lockers, as examples of how it has made public services more accessible and efficient.
"The country has resolved to become a developed India by 2047. In the next few years, we are going to be the third-largest economy... In this period, every government employee is going to play a huge role. You always need to work with a citizen-first spirit," he was quoted as saying in another agency report.
Prime Minister Modi underscored his government's dedication to achieving 100% saturation in the implementation of government schemes, emphasizing the importance of constant monitoring and mass participation in mission mode.
Regarding the historic passage of the women's reservation bill, he hailed it as a significant milestone that will greatly benefit half of the country's population. The bill, which had been pending for three decades, received overwhelming support in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, reflecting the changing times and the nation's commitment to gender equality, the report further stated.
Prime Minister Modi pointed out that many of the new employees receiving their appointment letters were not even born when the idea of women's reservation was first proposed, highlighting the generational shift in India's attitude towards gender inclusivity.
He also highlighted the increasing presence of women in various fields, from space exploration to sports, and the growing number of women being commissioned into the armed forces.
