Abu Dhabi retains the top position in the list of cities Indians would love to live in, followed by Mumbai, Singapore, Delhi and London.
According to a report by 2017 edition of the Ipsos Top Cities Index published in the Economic Times, if given an opportunity, Indians would love to stay in Abu Dhabi followed by Mumbai, Singapore, Delhi, London, Paris, Sydney, New York, Zurich, and Los Angeles.
Quoting the survey, Amit Adarkar, CEO of Ipsos India, told to the website, "Indians love their very own commercial capital Mumbai and center of power Delhi and would love to stay in either of the mega cities of India due to abundant career opportunities; quality of life and entertainment options."
Ipsos Top Cities 2017 study considered 60 global cities, out of which Delhi retained 40th position and Mumbai retained 41st position. In 2013, the survey found New York as the most popular city across the globe. However, in 2017, Abu Dhabi topped the list putting London and Paris on the second position. Tokyo, Sydney and Zurich occupied the 5th position.
“Globally we see the power of the New York brand with its appeal to people across the world, young and old. But the rise of Abu Dhabi and the weakness of Sydney among younger people remind us that no city can afford to rest on its laurels,” Adarkar added.
Rome, Los Angeles and Amsterdam occupied the remaining top 10 positions. On the other hand, the cities that occupied the bottom positions include Karachi, Nairobi and Tehran.
