Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024 phase four, Andhra Pradesh Congress President and Candidate from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, YS Sharmila, reached her polling booth and voted. She appeared sure of her and the Congress party's win from the seat.

YS Sharmila told ANI, "I don't know if I am allowed to talk politics today or not, but I am very sure and confident of my victory here. I am also very sure that justice will prevail because that's important in sight of god, in sight of people and for society, Justice should prevail..."

She mentioned the variations in Congress' vote percentage in Kadapa but at the same time, she looked confident for a double-digit vote percentage in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. "We should all remember that Congress had started with a very low percentage, almost less than 2 percentage votes, so we were already at rock bottom. The only possibility is going upward. I am very confident that Congress will show very much improvement and will get double-digit percentage and seats this time...," she quoted.

The sitting MP from this seat is YSRCP's YS Avinash Reddy. In the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Congress's YS Sharmila, TDP's Chadipiralla Bhupesh Subbarami Reddy and YSRCP's YS Avinash Reddy are running for office from this seat. Sharmila is the daughter of former Andhra CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy and sister of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. Avinash Reddy is the cousin of Sharmila and Jagan. The Telugu Desam Party, in alliance with the BJP in the state, has fielded Chidipiralla Bhupesh Reddy for the seat.

Earlier Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also cast his vote in Kadapa and expressed confidence of victory in both the Lok Sabha and the state elections. "You have seen the governance in the last 5 years and if you think you have benefitted from this governance then vote for that governance which would lead to a brighter future," Jagan Reddy told reporters after casting his vote.

Elections for the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh's State Legislative Assembly's 175 seats are being held simultaneously.
