Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut’s car was stopped by protesters, demanding an apology for her statements against farmers, in Punjab’s Kiratpur Sahib on Friday.

Police said when her car reached the Bunga Sahib gurdwara near Kiratpur Sahib in Rupnagar, a group of men and women, carrying flags of a farmer outfit, did not allow the cavalcade to move forward.

They were demanding an apology from the actor for her comments against farmers protesting the Centre's three farm laws, they said.

In a video on her Instagram stories the actor said, "These people are claiming to be farmers. A mob has surrounded my car even when police is there. Am I a politician? Do I run a party? This is unacceptable."

In a series of videos, Ranaut can also be seen talking to the protesters. After police persuaded them, the protesters allowed the actor's car to proceed from Rupnagar. In another video Kangana thanked her well-wishers and Punjab police for helping her.

Earlier, the actor was accused of comparing protesting farmers with "Khalistani terrorists". In the past, FIRs have also been registered against her over her remarks. The three farm laws were repealed by the Centre in Parliament this week.
