Delhi on Saturday recorded a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), reported news agency PTI.

Delhi records minimum temperature: Largely clear sky
The weather department has forecast a largely clear sky during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees Celsius, it said, adding that the humidity recorded at 8:30 am was 97 per cent, reported PTI.
At 9 am, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city was recorded at 238, which falls in the "poor" category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), reported PTI.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor", and 401 and 500 "severe".
Delhi records minimum temperature: People huddle around bonfires to keep
As cold weather conditions continue to brew over the national capital, people were seen sitting around bonfires to keep themselves warm early on Saturday morning, reported ANI.
Visuals from the Chandani Chowk area show a group of daily wage workers sitting near a bonfire to fight chilly winds, reported ANI.
Last week, severe cold and dense fog persisted in North India, including Delhi, causing travel disruptions to and from Delhi and inconveniencing passengers.
However, after recent showers in the Delhi-NCR region, the fog has toned down and the weather has become clear, improving the visibility for commuters, reported ANI.
Earlier on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted minimum temperatures in the range of 5-10 degC over most parts of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, among others, were said to be below normal over the region, reported ANI.
IMD on Friday reported the lowest minimum temperature of 2.7 degrees Celsius at Sikar in East Rajasthan. The cold wave was observed in isolated pockets of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh yesterday, reported ANI.
Earlier, cold weather and dense fog prevailed in Delhi and several places in Uttar Pradesh, delaying flights, trains, and other modes of transportation.
