A metropolitan court in Delhi on Thursday sent ordered 14 days judicial custody of the owner and on-duty doctor of the private hospital where a fire broke out on May 25, reported PTI. The blaze killed seven newborns and injured five.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidhi Gupta Anand sent Dr Naveen Khichi, the hospital's owner and Dr Aaksh, who was on duty at the time of the fire late last Saturday, to judicial custody.

The two were arrested on Sunday and were remanded in police custody on May 27.
The doctor has filed a bail plea which is scheduled to be heard on June 3, said the PTI report.
A massive fire broke out on Saturday night at Baby Care New Born Child Hospital in east Delhi's Vivek Vihar. The hospital was allegedly operating illegally with an "expired" licence and without any clearance from the fire department.
A case has been registered at Vivek Vihar police station under IPC sections 336 (act endangering life and personal safety of others), 304A (causing death by negligence), 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide).
Seven newborns die in fire at east Delhi children's hospital
A massive fire broke out at a children's hospital in east Delhi's Vivek Vihar, leaving seven newborns dead, officials said on Sunday, reported news agency PTI.
The officials of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said the blaze broke out at the children's hospital in Shahdara on Saturday night.
Twelve newborns were rescued from the medical facility but seven of them died, DFS chief Atul Garg said, reported PTI.
Five babies are undergoing treatment at another hospital, he said.
A senior police officer said the fire broke out at the Baby Care New Born Hospital and its adjacent building at around 11:30 pm on Saturday, reported PTI.
The babies were rescued from the hospital with the help of other people and shifted to another hospital, reported PTI.
While six babies were declared brought dead, one died during treatment, the officer said, reported PTI.
The bodies have been shifted to the GTB Hospital for postmortem.
