India's daily cases rise to 10,197

India's COVID-19 tally rose to 3,44,66,598 on Wednesday with confirmation of 10,197 fresh infections, up from 8,865 recorded the day before, while the active cases declined to 1,28,555, according to the Union health ministry's data updated at 8 am.


The death toll climbed to 4,64,153 after 301 more fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours. The active cases comprise 0.37 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.28 per cent, the ministry said.


A decrease of 2,238 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.82 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.96 per cent.
