Assembly polls 2022: UP registers 57.58 per cent, Punjab 63.44 per cent polling till 5 pm

The voting percentage on Sunday till 5 pm in the third phase Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh was 57.58 per cent and 63.44 per cent in Punjab, the Election Commission said.


In Uttar Pradesh, third phase polling was held in 59 Assembly seats spread over 16 districts. Lalitpur district recorded the highest polling at 67.37 per cent followed by Etah with 63 per cent, and Mahoba 62.01 per cent till 5 p.m.



Kanpur Nagar district reported lowest turnout at 50.88 per cent till 5 p.m.


Other districts where polling was held include Auraiya which registered 57.42 per cent, Etawah 58.33 per cent, Farrukhabad 54.55 per cent, Fizozabad 57.35 per cent, Hamripur 57.89 per cent, Hathras 58.95 per cent, Jaluan 53.87 per cent, Jhansi 57.52 per cent, Kannauj 60.20 per cent, Kanpur Dehat 58.50 per cent, Kasganj 59.18 per cent, and Manpuri 60.82 per cent polling till 5 p.m.

Polling for the 117-member Punjab Assembly was held in a single-phase on Sunday. Amritsar district registered 57.74 per cent, Barnala 68.03 per cent, Bathinda 69.37 per cent, Faridkot 66.54 per cent, Fatehgarh Sahib 67.56 per cent, Fazilka 70.70 per cent, Ferozepur 66.26 per cent, Gurdaspur 64.59 per cent, Hoshiarpur 62.91 per cent, Jalandhar 58.47 per cent, Kapurthala 62.46 per cent, Ludhiana 58.22 per cent, Mansa 73.45 per cent, Moga 59.87 per cent, Malerkotla 72.84 per cent, Patiala 65.89 per cent, Rupnagar 66.31 per cent, Sahibjada Ajit Singh Nagar 53.10 per cent, Sangrur 70.43 per cent, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar 64.03 per cent, Sri Muktsar Sahib 72.01 , Tarn Taran 60.47 per cent till 5 p.m.
