Std X student Tridip Gohain said, “I’m glad they chose to cancel the exams and not postpone it. Now the mental pressure is off. My Std XI studies have already begun. I can concentrate on that now.”

A Std XII student, who did not wish to be identified, said, “I had plans to study abroad but the delay in Std XII exams and subsequently the delayed results will hamper it. I have written to the universities I have applied to check if they can accommodate late results.”

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) later said it is reviewing the COVID-19 situation and will soon take a decision on conducting Std X and Std XII board exams.
