If the name MH-12 reminds you of a highway, think again. It is actually the name of the new Hard / Punk Rock band in the city. The two-member band formed last year has mostly performed in and around the city. Comprising of Tally (keyboard) and Vishal Gore (guitar and percussion), their USP lies in their love for experimentation.

"Though our music is not dance-oriented, it can be played at a disco and still sound groovy. But it could just as well be played on your car stereo and blend in the background. If you enjoy listening to non-stop music, you should listen to our tracks," adds Tally.
The duo emphasise that their music is a mix of Indian and Western tracks. "It's Electronic music with Indian elements thrown in alongwith Asian underground sounds. You'll chance upon an alaap or flute or dholak sounds in between as well," Tally explains.
At times, they collaborate with guest artistes, like Murthy and Varun, on some of their tracks. MH-12 admits their sounds are inspired by Midival Punditz, the first Indian Electronica band to hit the international scene and usher in a new musical era.
However, the duo feel the city still has to warm up to their genre of music. "The audiences are open to listen to new forms but we are taking it real slow and trying to gauge audience reaction to our experimental sounds," adds Tally. For their upcoming event, MH-12 have decided to play a good mix of Asian Underground sounds with some up-tempo groovy music.
