Water stock in dams rises after above average rainfall

With the district receiving 226 millimetres of rain so far, it has already crossed the average rainfall for the month of June, said District Collector Vikas Deshmukh. With the satisfactory rainfall, the water stock at various dams in the district has also risen

“Although Baramati, Daund, Indapur and Shirur haven’t received satisfactory rainfall, the Khadakwasla dam which supplies water to Pune city has 3.75 TMC of water, which was earlier 1.5 TMC. While, Bhatghar dam has so far received 13.68 TMC of water due to the rains,” said Deshmukh.u00a0


“Consequently, the district administration has reduced the number of water tankers to 180, which was earlier 249. These tankers were supplying water to the drought prone areas of the district,” said Deshmukh. u00a0
