The fifth Tri Continental Film Festival will be held from January 30 to February 1 in the city

Breakthrough, an international Human Rights organisation is hosting the country's only film festival on human rights.u00a0

"We have received more than 150 entries across 20 countries and we have finalised 28 films. There are two movies that will be screened which have been awarded by the international jury, one of those films is called Pray the Devil Back to Hell," said Alika Khosla, festival director and initiator of the film festival in India.

"We have received many entries from India and we are also showcasing five such documentaries this time, made by Indian filmmakers," she added.

"Bangalore is an amazing city. I have travelled to many cities, where we have showcased these documentaries. In a city like Delhi, I noticed that people are spoilt with choices, as there are lots happening culturally. But in Bangalore, we have received an amazing response. People are more receptive and have also been very helpful," Alika said.

There are 28 movies that will be screened, branched into different sections like Body-pubic, not all in good faith, the line that defines and zones of war.

The rights choice
All for Breakthrough uses education, popular culture and media to promote values of equality, justice and dignity.

Most of the movies screened will be based on issues concerning violence against women and children, legal rights, personal law, impact of war, political conflicts among others.

Where? Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, Vasanthnagar
