New Delhi: A gangster wanted for the murder of a criminal in a city court earlier this year has been arrested here, police said on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma said Ajay, 30, was arrested on Saturday morning from Kanjhawala area in New Delhi.
The police recovered a pistol and three live rounds from him.
Ajay, from Jhajjar in Haryana, was involved in the murdered of another criminal in a shootout in Rohini court in April.
The DCP said Ajay was wanted in eight other cases of murder, attempt to murder and robberies.
"The police had been searching for him (Ajay) for the past four months. He was wanted in the murder of a sarpanch of a village in Haryana too."
According to the police, the accused was on a motorcycle with another person, who escaped during the arrest.
Verma said that of the eight persons involved in the court murder, five including Ajay have been arrested so far.
