A 65-year-old UAE-based businessman was found dead on Saturday inside his room at Pearl Hotel in Chembur.
The police have sent the body for postmortem. Lakhmi Gautam, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone-VI confirmed the incident. “The man has been identified as Al Kabir Khaneez. We have informed his relatives and they are coming to Mumbai to claim the body,” said Gautam.

According to the hotel staff, Khaneez’s door was locked from inside. When room service failed to get him to open the door in the morning, they informed to the police. It was only when the cops broke open the door. that they found him dead. The police are awaiting the post mortem report to find out if the death was a natural one.
