Two students, natives of Uttar Pradesh, were beaten up by a mob when they tried to molest a 21-year-old married woman at Shivaji Nagar bus stand. The traffic police officials arrived immediately and sent them to Commercial police station.
Shreya (name changed) was waiting for her husband, who had gone to answer nature's call when the two students, Ravi (27) and Madhur (28), started passing lewd remarks at her. Initially, she ignored but then they came up to her and expressed their desire to take her to their room around 9.30 pm.
The youths were drunk and they even forced her to get into an autorickshaw. Shreya resisted and asked them to stay away.
Christy (left) realised that Madhur and Ravi were molesting his wife and started to beat them.
Ravi and Madhur thought that she was a sex-worker and decided to share the amount to be paid to her. Later they started molesting her and pulled her into the autorickshaw.
At this moment, her husband Christy returned and realised that the men were molesting his wife. Shreya told him about the incident and Christy started beating them. Soon, a crowd also gathered and started beating them up.
Ravi and Madhur tried to escape but the crowd caught hold of them and called a few traffic officials who later handed them over to the Commercial station police. A case has been registered against them where the officials claimed that the two were in an inebriated state.
Rao Ganesh, Traffic PSI, who was present at the spot, said, "They were drunk and tried to molest her. When her husband got to know about it, he gave severe blows to them and we handed them over to law and order police."
