After political drama, some unique protests to be seen in city

The government is saved, but Bangaloreans are in no mood to cheer.

As state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders involved in the cloak-and-dagger politics of the past two weeks join hands and relieved party members prepare for poojas to keep things this way, some residents plan to welcome the reconciled BJP leaders with protests.

While maverick politician Vatal Nagaraj says he will do it with dogs in front of the legislators' homes, Gandhian Shambhulinge Gowda, who took on biggies in the recent Govindrajnagar bypoll, is to fast in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue from today.u00a0

"Though the crisis is resolved, I will stage protests against the people's representatives as people are suffering in flood-hit villages," said Gowda. "I will start my protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue."

Nagraj, known for his unique protests involving animals like camels, buffaloes and donkeys so far, will do it with stray dogs this time.u00a0

Nagraj, along with his supporters, will bring over half-a-dozen dogs to legislators' homes and protest against the ruling BJP, equating the party crisis to a dogfight.u00a0 "The crisis in the BJP for the last two weeks is a mockery of democracy," said Nagraj.
