Rang Rasiya has become a sizzling topic of discussion this summer.
It's the bareness in the film that everyone is talking about. I agree that there is nudity in Rang Rasiya, but it's an artistic film with a lot of sensitivity and relevance. Also, those who have seen the film have appreciated it and I'm sure that a word-of-mouth publicity will work for the film after it's released.
You had organised a painting competition since the film is based on the life of a painter.
Yes, we had organised 'Freedom of Expressions' and the basic idea was to find someone who is as passionate as Raja Ravi Verma. The competition witnessed a participation of more than 13,000 artists from across the country. It was one of the biggest competitions and will go on for the next three years.
Was this competition a part of the promotional strategy for the film?
Not really. I wanted to do something like this for a long time because I believe there's immense talent in our country. When we talk about artists, there are just a few names that come to our mind. So, I thought why not highlight some new talents.u00a0
How does it feel to be directing Dekh Bhai Dekh into a feature film?
I didn't want to make it as a film, but Sony and Warner Bros were keen on doing so. They even conducted a survey in seven different states to know the reaction of the people. But now when I'm
doing it, I'll do it my way. I'm not signing any big stars and will retain most of the
old artists.
