Speaking to sunday mid-day, the head in-charge of the centre DCP Tanaji Ghadge said, “We studied last year’s incident where one aspirant died and several others got injured in a stampede.
We held meetings with traffic department, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department and local police stations including Vakola and BKC.” Explaining the other steps taken by officials this year, Ghadge said, “We have built 30 centres. We have a staff of 350 officers and constables working round the clock to ensure smooth functioning.
The recruitment process started on June 6 and will continue till June 21. We have one officer who attests copies for the aspirants. We have arranged four coolers and urinal facilities for them as well.” Several lakh aspirants have applied this year, which includes over 70,000 female candidates.
