Fire and ice are poles apart, they can never co-exist. So, when Borivali's latest hukkah and Chinese joint decided to string the two entities and give Ekskar Road a new hangout place, we were curious to give it
a shot.

Soon, we realised that the only thing that's hot here is the food. It nearly burnt our palate in our attempt to dig into the first starter -- the Paper Paneer (Rs 120 on the menu; we were charged Rs 100; also we suspect that 'paper' here refers to 'pepper'). We were groping in the dark (literally) over how this dish was supposed to taste; it came pretty close to a version of the Manchurian Paneer. Plus, this dish was heavily spiced with chilli and pepper. We also figured that it was probably served hot, so it would drown out any taste (or lack of it) that the paneer might have. Having said that, it didn't take away from the reality that the paneer was stale; the dish barely passed the muster.

Even after our disastrous beginning at this seemingly seedy hukkah joint, we placed an order for a second starter, a harmless sounding Corn Potato Chips (Rs 110 on the menu; again, we were billed Rs 100; it was noted as 'Corn Batata Finger' on the bill). Our patience had run out by now. We did not have the courage to stay for main course. Be forewarned about the menu. The sample that was handed to us mentioned the rates of soft drinks as Rs 40, however, the number four looked suspiciously like one, and instead of a cold drink served in a bottle or glass, we were handed pet bottles.

The playlist was confused -- it alternated between Bollywood classics, popular hits and the one-off English track. Just like its staff. For those, who want to skip food and stick with the hukkahs, there are nearly 30 flavours to choose from including a Kashmiri Apple-flavoured Hukkah (Rs 275) and a Soft Drink Hukkah (Rs 300).
Don't be surprised to find groups of unruly guys singing out loud to the latest blockbuster at Fire On Ice; this could be the reason why we didn't spot a single girl when we dropped by on a weekday.u00a0
