When did you figure you wanted to be a DJ?
I've loved music but I was involved in sport, especially surfing. I was a pro-surfer back in France. After I left France to pursue academics, I decided to take up music.u00a0

The cool dude: DJ Norman Doray

What kind of music did you begin playing, and how much has your style changed over the years?
I used to play soulful vocal and melodic house. My style has now changed since I play for a larger crowd. Now it's more Big Room stuff, but still melodic. That will never change.

How different is nightlife in France when you compare it with that across the globe?
France used to be a big place for electronic music, and nightlife in general. Now, it's not. There are too many laws, restrictions, and people prefer staying at home. They don't go out anymore because they can't drink, smoke... they can't have fun. I think they are really fed up with the DJs too. That's not the case in India. That's why I love India!

What's the key to a good remix?u00a0
(Laughs) I don't know. If I knew that, it would be like magic. I think you need to keep the best part of the original, and try to bring in your style, to take the track to another level.
u00a0
What kind of tracks do you enjoy remixing?u00a0
Tracks with good melodies, tracks I have liked to play as originals to begin with. If they have vocals, even better.

Who according to you is the No. 1 DJ in the world?
I would say Axwell, because he is the best, technically. He loves the crowd and the crowd love him. I guess DJ Erick Morillo is also in the same league.
u00a0
The biggest perk of being a DJ?
Girls!

How is your third solo effort, Leo coming along?u00a0
Good. It's complete, I'm testing it at every gig. Leo is the follow up to Krystal, and I have produced two more singles. So, I am confused about which one to test out.u00a0

You are planning an unusual concept with partner DJ Arno Cost? Give us a sneak preview.
Arno and I have been playing alone a lot. But for some big gigs, we team up. So, here, we will join forces to create a massive event. The first one will be held in Paris, and then maybe Ibiza. It will be like a private party for 200 people.

What have you planned for your set at Fuga, tonight?
Big Room tracks. Exclusivities. New Productions. So, be ready!u00a0
