Techie injured in hit-and-run

Saurabh Chaurasiya (28), a newly-joined employee of a software company was seriously injured in an accident after his bike collided head-on with a four-wheeler at Bhujbal Vasti near Hinjewadi, around 11 pm, last night.

Saurabh Chaurasiya (28), a newly-joined employee of a software company was seriously injured in an accident after his bike collided head-on with a four-wheeler at Bhujbal Vasti near Hinjewadi, around 11 pm, last night.
u00a0Saurabh was immediately admitted to Birla Hospital nearby.

Doctors said his condition was stable but he had received internal head injuries.

Saurabh was left lying in an unconscious state till local residents and later his colleagues came to his help.

u00a0According to an eyewitness, Ravindra Patil, "Saurabh was driving his bike (MH03 T 1798) towards Wakad from Hinjewadi. A white colour Safari car which was coming from the opposite direction suddenly turned right because of which Saurabh lost control of his bike and was lying unconscious on the road, but the four-wheeler (MH14 AM 7922) driver did not stop to help him."

u00a0A friend of Saurabh, who did not wish to be named, said, "We were returning from office to our house. I had stopped at a hotel to take food while Saurabh went ahead. When I came out I saw a mob around a bike, which turned out to be Saurabh's."

The company's administration officer Sandeep Karale said, "We have informed his parents and they will be coming soon. He belongs to a police officer's family. According to Saurabh's ID he was a new employee."

u00a0Police reached the spot nearly twenty minutes after the mishap took place.

On-duty police officials said that a case will be registered against the car driver.

Meanwhile, a heavy traffic jam was created after the accident on the road.
